Competitive Pathway
Competitive Tennis Activities and Leagues…
- Challenge players to push their limits
- Increase fitness, agility and stamina
- Facilitate a regular commitment to health and well-being
- Build friendships and lifelong bonds
Our core tennis population is small but active, and our opportunities will grow as we add new players! We strongly encourage intermediate and advanced players to participate in mixers, leagues, USTA teams, and tournaments. Most opportunities for organized play are held in Cookeville or Fairfield Glade, the two largest tennis communities in the region. Events and dates can be found on our calendar.
Leagues at Fairfield Glade run year-round (by season) and are unsanctioned leagues with no membership requirements. Cookeville leagues are currently unsanctioned, but we hope to offer a USTA league in the future. Our region has USTA teams at different levels who compete at State Tournaments in Mixed Doubles and Combo Doubles divisions. Travel to tournament sites and commitment to regular practices are required. If you are interested in joining a competitive team, please contact the Local League Coordinator, Melinda Leftwich at ucctennis40@gmail.com.
If you live in a nearby county and would enjoy structured tennis events, please contact us for assistance with organizing a Tennis Upper Cumberland satellite group. We are working to build a network of tennis players in each community, because there is a place on the courts for everyone.
